The coolest weekend of the year is about to go down.
Dozens of like minded, board building, surf folk and tons of surfboards will be converging for a weekend of fun, waves (knock on wood), food, surfboard talk, and fun fun fun.
Did I mention FUN?
Be there or be square!
Seriously, if you have not been before, do yourself a favor and just come on through. You will be glad you did.
Looks like campfire restrictions are not in effect at this campground according to Los Padres Forest Service website. I have an inquiry to Campone.com to be sure.
Planning on heading up for a few hours Saturday morning with a 40"x40"x1/2" fin panel for whomever, and maybe a couple of other things if I can dig them out. Can’t stay long. Cal Poly game Saturday night.
Getting pumped to go!! I can finally make it back to Plaskett after a few years hiatius, sponging a riding up with Keith M. Patrick, and Zippy the Weiner. Got this wobbly pinlined …super speed egg, 7’7" beast done 30 mins ago…looking forward to the first surf on it, out of the bag…into the water speed egg.
I’m trying to finish a board in time for Swayholics, but I’m cutting it really close. Yesterday I installed the plugs, 8 of them (for a twinzer), and while I was setting the second of four jigs the resin in the cup starting smoking. I barely had time to set the jigs and the resin in the holes kept bubbling. I thought the board was going to go up in smoke or at the very least melt the foam. I set up fans and the board came through OK. On the deck you can see shadows, I’m hoping it was just the resin seeping into the foam and not melting the foam. Never use fast hardener to set plugs when it’s 80 degrees out. Fun times!
I have today and tomorrow to sand the board, so I think I will get to ride it a Sand Dollar. I doubt the conditions will warrant the fun gun but it will fun to try.
Oh, It will be good to see you Tom, after much time…
