I’m planning on making a 7’2" single fin semi gun (similar to a Rusty desert island type) but adjusted for a single fin outline . What is a good tail rocker number for this type of board. Up till now my singles have been around 2" 2.25" tail rocker but they were both short boards. What are the pros and cons with going either way as they relate to handling on this size of a board, especially in overhead surf. Thanks for any suggestions and yes I’ll be making my own template.
. >>>>>> Increase your tail rocker to between 2.55 to 2.7 for a 7’2", make sure your wide point is forward of center, 4" to 6" up should be in the ballpark. I think you will find that your board will tend to fit the pocket (hollow waves) a bit better with this rocker increase. Have fun, sk
