Tape up the corners of your epoxy tips

This is one reason I like RR KK. Wait until the resin is cheesy then tape up the corners that are not laying flat.

Man Greg! Coming through with the gold!!!

I have done this but forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder

Neat! The sticky on the tape doesn’t fuck with the epoxy when you hotcoat later? Yah know, trying to keep everything clean so you don’t have epoxy misadventures. My problem in that area has always been getting my 6 oz. to make that turn without pushing up on the flat side.
Mike

The tape messes with epoxy far less than rat turds do.

Nah, it doesn’t bother the epoxy at all.

I get it it…but not what I would do.
If it works go for it.

That’s awesome, never thought of doing that. But, to remove the fear of glue messing it up, I think I’d tape down wax paper instead.

Chris, in order to be more in tune with nature, I have been mixing the rat turds in WITH the epoxy. Please continue, friends. Mike

I aspire to be as green as you one day Mike

be careful with the waxpaper, i had tried some on a repair instead of plastic, and the epoxy soaked into the wax paper. I went to pull it off and some it was stuck to it.

Never happened with taping some sort of plastic though.

Suran Wrap and then tape…

“I think I’d tape down wax paper instead.”

Of course then you would have wax residue.

I would be worried about that too Doc… the tape works fine by itself. Or, like Lavarat suggested, saran wrap works great too

Mike, if you really want to go with Nature, the rat turds go in your coffee. Tequila works too but not so great when glassing

Oh man! Believe me, we check our coffee mugs before pouring. Ah…country living. Might explain my consistently bad glass jobs. Mike

Nice Mike . What are you building?
