Tempera paint for artwork?

Has anyone ever used straight tempera paint for painting longboard noses, pinlines, etc?  I’ve been using gloss resin with pigment and was looking for something simpler and less smelly; especially for painting large areas like longboard noses.  I’ll put a gloss coat over it when it’s done to seal it up.  Any thoughts?  Thanks!

My experiences with Tempera have been mainly on foam which worked well.  Over the sanded hot coat and under the gloss wasn't so successful.  I thinned the tempera with a little acrylic floor finish.

Check out the other thread ---'options for spraying a polyester blank'(if their is such a thing as a polyester blank).  I have used acrylic house paint for pinlines and spraying large areas on a sanded hotcoat with a gloss coat over.  No problem.

Sounds like acrylic may be the way to go.  Is it fine right out of the can or does it need to be thinned at all?
