templates... help!

hi everyone, im about to build my first boards and i know how to draw u pa template but im completely clueless as to where im supposed ot come up with all my specs. i.e. rocker, width, nose, etc. i wanted to make a 7’9 funshape board and a 9’3 both for beginners surfing medium to small choppy waves (jersey shore) the 7’9 has to be a little narrow cuz im a girl, i know that, but everything else… i want to work with clark foams, should i buy a foam closest t othe shape i want? im lost!!! if anyone has and templates similar to a board i could use feel free to send it tome at quack589@hotmail.com im willing to give or take an inch or two if necessary thanks!!!

Half templates are usually made on 1/8" masonite pressboard, then transfered to one side of your blank, drawn, the flipflopped over to the other side. Hard to “send”.

Tell us where you live, and maybe some of the board builders happen to be close enough to you borrow a template or two.

Really good shapers often use quarter templates, but you don’t want to borrow that.

Why not just find a board you like, measure it, then make it the width YOU want, getting the masonite from a HomeImprovement type store, then draw and cut, sight and true.

Lots of work, but it’s then called YOUR board made by you.
