templating

hi everybody… i had a think for a while and i just want to know if this possible… can you make your tamplate in one of your drawing sorfware and print it out through a very big printer, like you making a poster or something!! after that you can easily transfer your tamplate into a plywood… or is there any other easier mathod to work this out?

The “transfer” is the hard part.

And use pressboard, like Masonite, not ply.

Better yet, forget the ply or the masonite, just go to skinned blank bottom

Nice link Spence. I hadn’t seen that one before. Some serious detail going on there.

Ben…I plot my templates and rocker profile out in 3 sections(up to a 7’ board) and then transfer to heavy cardboard. They butt together very nicely with the thick cardboard and a little dab of tape will hold them in place well enough to get your outline draw. If you don’t have access to a large format plotter you can put your drawing on disk and take it to a reprographics store and they can plot it for you.
