I’ve noticed that all pics posted in this new format seem to be just links, and the image does not appear in the post. So, here’s a random pic to test what’s up.
Edit: Just as I suspected. Pics will not appear in the post and you must click a link. That’s inconvenient, to say the least.
I don’t know what the difference is, but pics are showing up on some posts, links on others.

You can embed, but it would be nice if it displayed attached files too. I’ve seen forums work both ways.
For those who don’t know: embeds are for images that already exist somewhere on the internet, whether it be photobucket, flickr or somebody’s site. The attach function is for uploading images from your computer without hosting them elsewhere.
I don’t know why it doesn’t display attachements. I’ve seen forums work both ways, but it seems like it’d just be better to display them. Not sure of the reason they (the forum software designers) don’t do it that way. I wonder if it’s an option the mods or admins can change.

Now, I will copy the URL for the pic I uploaded, and link it via the embed function
This means, if you want your pic to show in the post you must upload it, locate the file on the swaylocks site, then copy/paste the URL in order to make it visible without an additional click.

Not necessarily - some of my file attachment pictures are still showing up embedded.
Like I say, I can’t tell what the difference is, but its not just embedded vs attachment.
The last bunch of pics I uploaded for the big boy longboard design review thread are still there as images.
The new default fonts used in the forum templates are not as good as before, and being gray makes it worse. I have to blow it up pretty large on my laptop to keep it from ‘pixelating’. Ironically enough the editor features small black Times New Roman text.
Simpler fonts, bolder contrast. Other than that and the spam attack so far so good…-J

EDIT: Not all is bad. Forum navigates quicker and only 1 banner ad on the right side for me.
Inline attachments is fixed.
