Thanks for all the help (long over due!)

Due to the latest foam foam shortage I have a little time to reflect as well as research…that’s why I am here. And that’s why I finally signed up to post. I am bored. I want to shape. Untill then I’ll learn about some new stuff. Please enjoy these photos of my past year in the backyard. There have been close calls, happy accidents and lots of support from the people around me. It’s funny how the more you get a hang of things, the more questions you seem to have and the more complicated things become. I am glad I can find out virtually anything here. So I will read a bit and take some notes, hopefully some day soon I can lay down a tape line or two.

I hope I am attching these photos correctly.

Ok, the photos are there this time. Here’s a few more.

Dane,

Your single-fin looks to have a very similar outline to the board I just finished (thruster). What are the dimensions?

It was my first board and it surfed really, really fast. Just curious about yours, including how it surfs.

That particular single was 6’0" X 21" X 2 & 3/4" We took three of them to the 7 sisters last year and realized that they are a good alternative to a long board when the surf is big but not very hollow. However, I can get mine going pretty good in pitching beach break. I find in larger hollow surf the tail drifts a little when dropping in making for a pretty neat stall before pulling in. This may be due to fin position or template. Over all its a forgiving board to shape and I think it should be kept a few inches shorter than your standard board and wide.
