I started using this system in testing with riders, about a year ago, when the other guy owned it. The original boards are holding up! I even directed the glass schedule to eliminate the football patches in the reinforcement area. They are holding up. I recomend that you all follow the manufacturers directions, though. The important part of this message is that I run glass, and G10 glass fins in these boxs. My fish fin templates are huge energy generators. In a turn there is a tremendous amount of pressure put on the tab of the fin in the box. If that box was not coupled with the deck skin, the fin location would last a couple of turns, maybe! I would not have dared compromise the performance qualites of my shapes with any box system that would not maintain the strength and integrity over time. If your not doing a lot of traveling, I still, and always will recomend glassing these fins on. Thanks for keeping the product intact Tom. Faithfully, Steve Brom

Faithfully, Steve Brom Steve, Larry Block, Dennis Daum & Tom O’Keefe are all the original founders of Red X Fin System (formerly Excel). We decided to change the name when Xcel wetsuits objected to our trademark. Rather than fight a legal battle we decided to focus on distribution. So, anyway everything is exactly the same as when you started. Thanks for the support, Tom
