The Bing Lovebird??

I want rider reviews with any kind of descriptive details!! Thanks

So far, the 9’4" version- I can tell you the board is heavy. It feels heavier than a 9’2" hobie spitfire! The bottom contour has a high v throughout the tail, they say it’s oldschool to do that. How it rides? I don’t know. You can view the chris del Moro video on YouTube, the surf that he was riding sucked. He was not even surfing in a high performance way. I noticed that he was having a hard time noseriding it. Like it was schetchy up there on the board, he kept his body low and would only put 5 out front. I watched another video with the shaper talking about it, he seemed dissappointed a little in the shape when he was trying to describe it, maybe because it’s a pos or may e because he doesn’t want anyone to really have it, in a scence of greed. So, nobody knows, is there a society that is willing to invite me into their world, of speech and ideas? Or do they feel like I am not good enough to experience their fruits? I am not one for boring surfing, if you know, the webber slx with the deep double concave that runs full legnth is a whole new dimension of surfing. So give me the longboard that plays the same under my feet.

Patience, grasshopper, patience.  I'd tell ya all about it, iff'n I knew anything!!  Looks nice, 'tho.

Hey guys… that’s my board… ha… not sure how many they made with that flower print, but mine is exactly like that one… thanks huck, now I don’t have to post it…

9’4" Lovebird…weights aprox. 23 pounds… beautiful shape and board in general with the cloth inlays, pinlines, resin tint/pigment(great glassing), etc…  a nice vee bottom as you mentioned that goes almost half the board… slight blended concave thru the nose… nice soft rails thru most of the board with a hard edged rail in the tail, with the nicest diamond tail i’ve seen(scooped out… it gets pretty thin at the tip)… comes with a 9.5" fin with the lovebird logo, the fin the shaper, Matt,  selected/ designed for the board…    I got this board after I saw a friend riding one (also 9’4") and he recommended it to me because of what I was looking for…

If you read the info on Bing’s website this board was designed for small to medium sized waves… I agree with what you said about the video of Chris del Moro surfing this board… it doesn’t do justice to what this board can do…

I’m 5’2, weight 125… ride mostly reef breaks here in Puerto Rico, and this is my everyday board…get to learn and enjoy a lot of time in the water with this board… as long as its under 6 feet, up to clean 6-8’, this board can handle it… great balance between speed, turning and noseriding… i could classify it as a performance noserider…super loose for it’s size/weight, it can handle off the tops, floaters, etc… but that’s not my style… and the are better boards for that… great noseriding capability with the weight(aprox. 23 pounds) and the big fin and concave, handles well the pocket and high lined, of to the shoulder noserides… i had an 8 footer in which i could “noseride” but not get to hang 10 properly, on the first sessions with this board I started to get the piggies out there… now i’m hooked and get to spend lots of time on the tip…

i’ve used the board from ankle/knee high point and reef breaks to 6’-8’ pumping reef breaks which is a little more than I expected… 6 months of constant use in one of the best seasons on our north shore in a long while and the board only has a small(quarter sized) pressure on the bottom from a time the board hit my head…  great quality, and shape…

it’s a great board…

surfingorgirls where do you surf ?

Thankyou
so much for your input! Yea, I am looking for a board that’s kinda off the wall- high performance. I’m into doing big floaters, snaps, cutbacks roundhouse, airs, 360s plus noseriding. So maybe this board in a 9’0" could be fun. I’m also looking at a Rickey Carroll quad fin plus single setup. It’s crazy light- epoxy glass, but I want to trust that It won’t buckle. Then I will be raising he’ll at someones house… Haha keep it comin, i am about to also purchase the bing syncronizier 5’8". It’s the stick for me, I do believe. I wish I knew as much about longboards as I do my shortboards.
Sounds like you in puertorico are having a grand time, gotta love them 6-8’ days. I am still wondering if that epic stuff is real out there. I am an OBX surfer from north Carolina at 5’9" 155lbs 24yr old.

Don’t know about the love bird, how it rides, but it sure is beautiful, would make a nice wall hanger! but the bing synchronizer rocks.I have a 7.4,i`t’s kinda hard to duck dive deep cuz it’s so buoyant and thick, but i love that board,it flies, and backside floaters are easy again for me at 55+.I have ridden it in 15ft faces,(8 ft hawaiian scale), it can handle,it’s so fun.Enjoy yours.
