New 5’ 10" round pin tail built for summer fun. Just about any fin set-up with 4 future box and a baine box for a sleek fiberglass single fin.Had a go on it today in super gutless South Bay highish tide
peaks.whoah! The thing flies with the Scimiter quad fins. The set is way better than the vector 2 jc. They really project nicely and seem to flow real clean. Rail to rail easy as butter to get it going. It turned on a dime and although it won’t go like your high performance standard thruster this is really just what i needed in my quiver to kick up the fun level when conditions permit.I can’t wait to fiddle with the fin options.Lastly the thing is not to floaty like the Biscuit and has just enough rocker to keep it lively. The single to double concave seems to work well. Stoked!
Seems the wide point is above mid point. He persuaded me on that …paddles great.
as far as rocker he put as much as he thought possible there is a fair amount as seen in the last picture. He told me getting the right blank makes a difference. Seems getting the right amount of rocker is a little bit beyond my realm of knowledge.
How does it go in single fin mode? it is a very handsome board. i imagine it would get some looks down at your local. A nice blend of modern performance and classic outlines. I like it. would suit my local very well.
Yeah, you nailed it. Classic with modern elements was what I was shooting for.
I really wanted somthing I could change up and mess with. I have a really clean single fin that Iwant to pop in. I’ll post a pic up later when I get a single session. I will have a friend shoot some pictures so you can see it in action hopefully. I love seeing non conventional looking boards.
actually conventional has its place. some wont even consider anything but what the pro’s ride, but I prefer to be a bit different to the rest of the pack. It can be an advantage at a popular break esp when the extra paddle power of a wider planshape and with the mid point putting the bulk under your chest can mean you’ll get a lot more waves than the rest of the flock.
I’ve got a little 2+1…all I’ve tried in it so far is a greenough 4a. Haven’t even stuck any sidebiters in it yet. I’d like to try a fin with a bit more hold before popping in the sidebiters.
spitfire huh? Lay a link or some pics for us ! Sounds interesting.
Anyone know of a link to find info on this fin?
I rode the board a couple times already as a quad.
Verdict? will have to wait for somthing to ride it on because The south-Bay has been really small.I took it up to “The rivermouth” and it was 2ft dumping shore break.
When I have more time I’ll try to get down to San Clemente to get some good ones.
