The 'Lets see ya first board thread'

I'm coming to the light at the end of the tunnel with #001 now and waiting for the gloss coat to cure.  Now i'm interested to see how it matches up to other peoples first boards..  My shapes a bit funny, fins are pretty shoddy and my top coats junk but it doesn't matter because of that golden excuse, 'yeah's my first go..'!

Let's see em then!

End of the first day of shaping.  Glassing starts on sunday!

Jack nice shape see you at greenlight for your lam job. Good work !! Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos this was my first shape

The first board I ever built.  Way back in 1988.  Long before Swaylocks and  youTube showed everyone how its done.  I learned by trial and error.  Board #1 sporting some 20 year old wax.  Funny thing is you can still see a ring of resin on my father’s driveway where I glassed it.  OOPS!  My father still hasn’t let me forget it.  Ha!!!

My first board was a university project last year... a 9'6" HWS from recycled Pine and Mahogany, Jensen rails. Its a big boy and bloody heavy (compared to what I'm used to) but it glides and nose rides like a dream, cutbacks are fun and could be compared to an oil tanker stopping and turning! My second build is almost finished, just going through the grades of sand paper...only 400, 600 and 1200 and I'm done, you can see the build here: http://www2.swaylocks.com/forums/62-hollow-wooden-quad-fish-mackerel
