Howzit silberback, Before Jim moved to Bali, he and his family lived in Hanalei for years. He didn't surf much and since we don't have any fast foods places that was not how he so heavy, couldhave been beer though. He tried playing the gang banger type and not many people liked him or hung with him. His parents moved back to the mainland and he stayed for a while and changed his attitude and actually made some friends and did a 180, I even started talking to him and found he could be a really nice guy. Then he moved to Bali and I think I saw him one more time on Kauai ( the visa thing) and talked tohim and that was the last time I saw him except for the video. Aloha,Kokua
Hey Claude - you have teh inside info it seems. Just what were the dimensions that he was riding in that vid - I'm guessing around 7' 6" x 21" x 3" ish.......on the right track?
What would others make for him?
I'm really enjoying the replies so far - keep them coming!
This is little old me at 270 and 6’2", throwing a little stall on a 9’ Tom Wegener Model Z (too small for me). I now ride a 8’3" McCoy Nugget. Big guys can rip! (not me)…[img_assist|nid=1052089|title=stall.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=640|height=480]

I don't really know. On the Lost website he is down as a team rider. It does say the boards are 4" thick. Looks a bit shorter than 7'6", but hard to say without knowing the dudes height.
Biolos usually recommends Speed Demon 2 for the top end, which is a wide shape with lowish rocker. So I would guess a modified version with more rocker for Bali. He's an ex pro, so it could be a modified whiplash. Someone could email Matt or pm him and ask the dims. Congrats on his Simon Anderson shape off win and I am sure you would get an answer.
Edit: he looks huge compared to Yorky and the Balanese, buy Yorky is smaller than a seal!
I’m going to work on gaining some weight.
Oneula, I was wondering if someone would come up with Junior. He ripped when he wanted to. Very intimidating guy until you talked to him. If you were a friend…it was to the end. He was alot of fun to surf with. When I think about him I still miss him. Thanks for posting the photos.
Ace, Where did you get those shots of me? See the chicks diggin’ me? Must be that fresh haircut I just got.
Last time I was there he had boards made from windsurf blanks. He is a dick in the water though.
Girvin, Don’t know if your comment was about Junior Boy, but if so and he was a dick, it was because he was pushed into doing so. He didn’t walk around with a chip on his shoulder and like most big guys, he would have to be EFFED with to react. He was an enforcer but fair and never malicious. It seems the comment was pointed the other way but wanted to let people know J.B. was as reasonable to you as you were to him. He really could kick ass though.
TBlank...screw you...Making fun of me in my new Blue speedo. That photo was from a photo shoot in OB. Ace made me do it. I don't like your tone of voice...making fun of my new hair cut, I had a hell of a time picking up my cans of Shasta Grapefurit diet creme soda.....bioch!
Smell my armpits.
“Ace made me do it”
And it did not take much to get him to do it SCARY
Resinhead, Seal Oil for tanning? I can smell you from here. I don’t even want to know what you use for butchwax.
about '73-'74, Surfer Mag ran a photo of Junior gashing a cut back at V-land, the caption read something like this " why you no come to da islands and share our waves", guys I knew said if you were behind Junior, his wake would blow you off your board
Howzit girvin, Sounds like he is going back to his old ways,to bad he can be a nice guy. When he was stillliving on Kauai he got his okole kicked by a local and was told he would get it again if the guy caught him in the water.Might be why he didn't surf much,I know he had a huge LB but never saw him on it or in the water the whole time he lived on Kauai. Aloha.Kokua
He was out with the boys at padang. He was prob just having a shit day but was burning folks left and right. He is fun to watch though you just don’t think a guy like that will make it out of the tube. He burned me in the barrel and I though to myself the reef is prob safer than him landing on me LOL.
