I always enjoy seeing threads of others pics, so here’s a few I’ve shot over the past few weeks. Loving being a five minute bike ride from my home break…if I can’t go surfing, I can usually go shooting. For any Ventura locals, if you recognize anyone in the pics, please pass them along, I don’t usually find people after they get out of the water. Always open to constructive criticism…
Great Shots! When you mentioned shooting, I thought??? They closed down the local outdoor range because of pressure from people moving into adjacent neighborhoods and complaining. It was the closest spot for most Police Depts in the county to train. Funny, it lasted more than 30 yrs and suddenly it was a problem. I will admit though there were times the sound of distant gunfire brought back the boogieman.
Depending on the lenses you have a good place to shoot on a big swell is the parking structure at the Holiday Inn/ Crown Plaza.
Yea, that could be a cool perspective. Mostly been shooting at the point, pipe and pier. I’ve got a 300 f2.8 and some tele converters, 85f1.8, and some wide angle options. Still dialing in everything, don’t have too much experience shooting action…glad you liked them. Mike
Also, give me a shout if you are surfing around here…it’s more fun to have a focal surfer than to just grab random shots.

Been a while, but still shooting…one of these days I’ll get a housing and have more in the water fun. Comments and criticism welcome, I take pictures for fun and I’d love to keep improving.
