OK, I've searched around a bit. Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but near as I can tell, swaylocks doesn't have ANY catalogs - template, fin location, rocker, etc.
There is a poster here who offers free template downloads from his website. And like was mentioned, McKee has quad layout diagrams on his website.
I agree with Ambrose that it isn't really necessary - I generally build one at time, design my own by hand on graph paper, and don't try to replicate anything exactly. Machine precision isn't my thing. But I do find pictures and diagrams to be helpful - especially since I like trying new things, but don't get the water time to really explore the nuances of different shapes / bottoms / fin configurations myself, so I like learning what I can from others, then making my own version.
I can see where guys who have created a niche with their own personal designs have a bit of a protective feeling about their shaping secrets. But at the same time, I think there are ways to take virtually ANY board, and scan it and translate the shape into a computer file. And this stuff isn't really easily licensed, trademarked, patented, or copyrighted, so its pretty much fair game once its out there in the real world.
There have been threads here about how big name surfboard mfg's have imitated shapes of lesser-known boardmakers, given it their own name, and marketed the design as their own. Even when its proven which came first, the response is often "we developed it simultaneously, without being aware of the other guy's design". So what're you gonna do?
A catalog of fin shapes and layouts would be awesome - so many questions get asked over and over. The question is, how would such a thing even be set up? Maybe there could be categories, like single fin, twin, thruster, quad, cinco - then anyone could enter their photos or diagram and notes, kinda like Quiver?
But as far as rocker, I don't know how that could be set up. I don't even know how useful a rocker catalog would be, without the template, fins, and some cross-sections.
