We spend hours drooling over their shapely curves and caressing their most sensitive areas. Only a surfer can truly appreciate the beauty of a well-sculpted body of foam. So what part of a surfboard turns you on the most? Be specific and don’t say, “The whole damn thing…” cuz that would be way too easy! I’m a rail-man myself. Especially the meaty, curved section found at the outer arc of a board’s widepoint. Coincidence that it just so happens to fit perfectly into the palm of one’s hand! It’s difficult to put into words, but you know there’s something magical about the mysterious area where bottom and deck come together as one. When I have my baby laying in the shaping stands and I’m pulling the coarse, black sanding screen over her creamy, white skin, I like to look close and marvel at the perfect little ridges left behind in the foam. It almost reminds me of goosebumps that form on a lover’s skin as you peal the clothing from her anxious body.

I’m a tail man myself, something about the way the rail outline, bottom contours and foil all come together in that critical area. I’m a size queen myself. There’s nothing like paddling out into the lineup on my 9’4" and having the biggest one around. Actually,I’m really a sucker for nose channels and concaves. Lovely Harbour nose channels are nothing short of sculpture.
Okay now were talking the sexiest part of the board is creating them??? First i look for a sweet little blank thin and superlight… Then i take her and put hear on my racks and take a close look at her make sure she isn’t to twisted in the tail… Then i remove her hard shell with my power tools… lay down a few curves where they should be making sure to keep the tail pulled in nice and small. You know that sweet to the eye look… As i turn the rails i always grab hear by the middle and feel how sweet she is in my hands… making sure i keep her even and thin where it counts… Glassing her is always fun… I take her to the glassing racks and dress her in some nice thin 4oz… then i wet her out till she is all wet and dripping. then give her a rail tuck. The next step is a treat giving her a hoat coat and Pluging. then were off to the sanding room where i grind the shit out of her!!! then when she’s all done I ride her hard till she falls apart and i Dump her to create another one just like her… You have to vision what you want out of her and ride her hard!!! That’s the way i see it…>>> We spend hours drooling over their shapely curves and caressing their most > sensitive areas.
