Any thoughts?
I’m going to assume University of Hawaii? Go for it. I hear its really nice, I might be going to that area this fall if situation allows. But if you know what you want to take and are close to 100% sure what your major is, base your college selection on the speciality of that major . . . you get better edumacation that way.
And if you’re not really sure, take a bunch of community college course and general ed / or if you want a ‘university’ experience enroll in one that doesn’t dent the wallet too much and take some general ed courses until you figure out what you want.
it’s expensive and the lineups are crowded here…
if you can handle it it’ll be an experience you’ll treasure
but life here can be mean if not frustrating at times.
they remind us its the price of paradise…
Sounds a lot like California…
Majors marine bio.
I like UH after I got my core courses out of the way. It was frustrating trying to finish up the core classes. I did manage to finish them at Windward Community College. I got my BA in Journalism back in 1979. Parking around campus can be challenging. I joined a church group accross from campus on University Ave and parked there. This allowed me to surf Publics early in the morning and make a quick dash to my 8 AM class. The women were beautiful and very diverst there.
I took a couple of fun classess like volleyball, drama, dance, waterpolo just to keep things fun every semester. I met some great people there and found a lot of surf partners too.
UH Manoa is about 15 minutes from Ala Moana Bowls, 10 minutes from Waikiki (if you can find close parking) and about an hour from the North Shore. There is an excellent bus system on Oahu. You can also hook up with the Oahu Swaylockians if you like.

I think you’d be crazy to pass up the opportunity.
Studying calculus 101 is the same everywhere – but the surf sure ain’t…and think how stoked you’ll be if you can’t afford to come home over Xmas break!!
A good friend of mine is a professor at UH Manoa, so if you have any questions I’ll relay them for you.
