That was a great read…Thanks for sharing it.
Gil
Cool read – thanks!
“Wag more, bark less”
I saw that on the rear windshield of an SUV-ish type vehicle just yesterday or today near La Costa and ECR…thought it was appropriate for the times!
Gil, I didn’t know you were still around. It looks like you are in between the move.
Just got through reading it. A real trip down memory lane. The Windansea ‘‘Story’’ is incomplete as to the 50’s and 60’s era, but a goodly number of the correct people were spoken to, or spoken of. How do you talk of Windansea without mention of Butch? No last name needed there, you ALL know who I mean. It was well done, overall. It’s almost impossible for someone to write about that period, that didn’t actually live it. It was a glorious time. Surprisingly, the best media depiction of that period, was the film BIG WEDNSDAY. The Selective Service sequence, was accurate. I know. I was there. You have no idea what you missed, by not being there. But you are all connected to it through surfing, and through your equipment. Especially those of you who venture to make your own boards, and ride them. Good on you, as they say.
