Those who know Hanalei,Kauai

Aloha, Not real surf related but Dennis Wakamoto the owner of the Hanalei Liqour Store passed away from a heart attack Monday morning making it a double Black Monday. Dennis and his wife Judy have always been friends to the surfers and people of Hanalei, they have extended credit to those in need and those that just forgot their wallet for over 30 years. For those of you that have been to Hanalei and visited their store please take a moment and remember what a great guy Dennis was. When I asked a friend if he’d heard about Black Monday ( referring to Clark foam) he said yes I heard about Dennis, dropped me in my tracks because that was the first I’d heard about his death. Hanalei is mouning his loss.Aloha,Kokua

Sounds like Kammie just more generous…

But then again most everyone in the country on Kauai is generous or was generous

Aloha no to his family and friends…

Local superstition

bad things always happen in threes

Howzit oneula,Funny you should mention the Kammies,I was thinking of saying that Dennis and Judy were like the Kammies. This will be one huge funeral, just waiting to find out when it will be, they have the black bow on the front door of the store and people are dropping off so many leis.Aloha,Kokua

Kammies was cool to me.

If I didn’t have quite enough money for my purchase…They would let me sweep-up or stock to make-up for the shortage.

////////// I look back at all the people that looked over me like Nancy Katin…all I can say ,with the biggest heart is,THANK YOU ! Herb
