all the old beatniks
are almost gone.
…ambrose…
those guys were really out there.
They understood progressive jazz
because they wanted to…
now as to surfboards
it has taken fifty years to dig
simmons,…essentially a surfing beatnik
died before having his book ghost written by his brother…

Hey Ambrose,
Nice literary suggestions…tend to get the nods when dabbling in the pages these days.
The good Dr Simon Anderson asks that, although he was deeply touched be the $1 per fin concept…and many have given or shouted him a beer, he asks any such kindness to be forwarded to te Surf Aid charity on his behalf instead…mark of the man…generous in so many ways.
I have no commercial interest in Thrust and am only spreading the word as it is something very special and records a period of great change and cultural significance of our lifestyle and the many characters whom have shaped it, plus the good Dr is as dry as and funny as, so it is a fun read.
the Lobster Thai mild green Curry…hold the Ambrose, washed down with a Sav/semilon Blanc…and a bottle of Cab Merlot before retiring to dream of swells gone by, riden with youthful flair…unshackeled from the single and twin with a new Thruster under foot and new lines being discovered.
The Rock of Lobster…like Gibralter, but not covered in seagull shit!
