ive had this board forever but Im affraid it might be worth some money.its a 6'3" Rusty tri fin.signed by R.P.someone(cant read last name)64 date under signature and 2643 serial#
awww, man! That looks like a FUN board!
I'm not sure if 64 is the size or the date.I'd hate to get rid of it,but I know someone else could make better use of it.I never could get used to it.Just got hit in the face alot!
the 64 on the board would be the size of the board
definitely not the date
looks like 80's
I had it since the 80's so that sounds about right.back then it was given to me so I dont know what this board is worth.I dont want to give it away!
dastartfish:
Put it in your rafters or some place out of the way in a board bag.
Let is sit for 10 more years and it might fetch anywhere from $500 to $1000 dollars.
20 more years over $2,000.
Today it’s worth maybe $75 bucks.
You could hang it on your wall and at least get something out of it until it becomes worth more?
I find it hard to believe that this board is only worth $75!

Surfding knows his surfboards, its not likely he'd be far off.
Its worth whatever you can get for it. Put it on ebay start the bidding at $75, and see how high it goes.
ebay is a great resource for crowd sourcing prices.
Do a search - if you’ve not done so already - on Rusty board completed sales.
Pay special attention to location and shipping.
In the end a board or any other item is worth what you get from the buyer you sell it to so if you’re patient you can find the buyer for your price - whatever that happens to be in your head - but remember; regardless fanaticism, surfboards are toys.
darsartfish like Huck say’s put it on Ebay and see what someone will pay at the present time?
$75.00 should be the starting point in my humble option.
Rusty is a great shaper and I have a lot of respect for him however you will need time to collect on the board to make any real money.
It depends on how much real estate you have for storage.
You would be better off having Rusty make you a wall hanger for a few thousand dollars and in 10 years you would make a decent return.
I have a 6’9" Dick Brewer Single fin Pin Tail from 1977 Shaped by Sam Hawk.
I rode it on the North Shore back in the day. It’s most likely worthless to most collectors however to me it’s priceless.
The memories of that board are timeless.
You already stated that you never really enjoyed the way the board surfed for you so why do you think it is worth alot of money?
You don’t even have a personal connection to it!
What kind of story do you have to this board?
If it belonged to someone famous like Pottz (His style of Airbrush during that era) then you might have something.
I will give you $50.00 for it so I can hang it on the wall in my CNC room.
Hopefully you take green backs?
PM me if you want quick cash?
Kind regards,
surfding
I’m thinking he didn’t like the pricing advice. http://southjersey.craigslist.org/spo/2687370126.html
The great thing of Craigslist - no cost to advertise an item for the price you want.
At $375 it may never move but if it does more power to him.
Of course selling it at this time of year at that price is a double knock but if the right buyer comes forward he’s got $325 more than the offer put up in this thread.
Now that he’s taken care of I’ve got a steal of a board:
The Terra Supra Gromma - 6’4" x 22 x 1-1/2" penta fin Grom/Kite performance board built using the Integral Wave Core method.
Must Go and priced to move at $675…
I was told that I would hear comments from dickheads on this site!
you’re quite the class act yourself obviously
Dastartfish your calling me a Dickhead?
I was being honest with you.
If you can’t stand the true well who’s the dickhead?

This was for you Mr. Nice Guy!
Very Kind Regards,
surfding
duhtardfish is obviously oblivious to the collective wisdom of the assorted Richard Craniums hereabouts.
Meh - sokay if he don’t want to play but given the quality of his last post if he wants to garrunntay! his asking price and see real Richards to boot he might consider reposting his Craigslist ad under the personals and promote a happy ending for a completed transaction.
Meanwhile Surfding, how much for my board?
OP.
I am in Ocean City, NJ. I will give you $75 perhaps $100 cash once seen in person. Shoot me a message if interested.
Brian for collectibles I deal with higher end.
Redwood, Balsa, Exotics.
I make them and I have a few collectors for clients.
For High Performance surfing I have made a little over 4300 boards.
I have my own vacuum press for Hi-tech composites.
Your board will be good for the right person.
For a board to be a collectable it needs a story or backed by a well know shaper at least.
dastartfish has a pretty good Rusty Shortboard from the 80’s however it’s just a production board.
Here is a wall hanger I made for one of my rooms:
Black Piano Finish with Tee-Band Stringers 8’11" Sunset Gun
dastarfish,
At the cost of being a dickhead I’ll come right out and say it. There is only one dickhead posting on this thread. Take a look in the mirror. Mike
