This is probably a strecth, but here it goes… I am going to get that C80 printer and I know you have one. A friend has a factory and wants me to start printing his lams for him, and I know you print lams for others. He and others have asked if I can flash the paper with white then overprint on it. Do you have any experience with this? I know silkscreeners can simply lay down white ink on rice paper then register the logo over this white area and overprint. As you know an ink jet printer has no white ink and I don’t want to print on anything other than rice paper. I have printed on good quality light weight, opaque stock with no problems, but I know that is not the way to go. Do you know of anybody that sells opaque rice paper, or of a method to flash the paper? They like the white flash for laying over stringers, light airbrush colors, and the fact that they can tell if the design is right side up, or not. I picked up a board from there yesterday, and they placed the lam on the bottom right side down, so the lettering was backwards. It is a small lam (about 3" diameter, so it is not that big of a deal). I guess those fumes get to you after a while. Anyway any info would be greatly appreciated.
opaque rice paper is a great idea. somebody should market that. sheets of rice paper that have been screened white. i’d buy it. anyone else?

I haven’t done printing where white was needed but there is info in the archives pertaining to the process. You also have to about things like putting a yellow lam on a blue board, turns the lam green. Good luck, Kokua

Print your color image in reverse. cut a stencil for the white area, lay it over the image & spray with white acrylic paint. glass paper side up. ( spray white very!!! light) if it wrinkels try a hot dry iron ot get it back to shape. Caution (Moms, wives & girlfrinds can get pissed if you wipe out there irons.
