I went and paid for my blank (eps) this morning. The link below is to Buddha’s website. Quite a few epoxys to look at. I asked him about the pvc stringer material. I told him some guys I know in TX were looking for it. He said that he did not think you could get out of Galveston (I thought that was were ya’ll were from), but knows for sure that you can get it out of Houston. I guess he lived in Galveston for a while. Anyway he is going to look for the distributor out there in your area, and get back to me. He is pretty sure that the same company he uses here (FL) has a hub there. I will see him by the beginning of next week. Oh yeah he said that you have to be careful because not all of the pvc will work. He was not sure what it was, but some of the stuff just won’t stick to the foam. I’ll find out what I can. http://www.buddhashapes.com/index.htm
I’d like to see some of that PVC stringer material. Can you hotwire cut over it, or will it melt?
I don’t believe so. I am pretty sure that he hotwires off of wood, then transfers the wooden rocker template to the pvc, cuts it out, cuts the eps blank in half and glues it up. It comes in quite a few colors. I have seen yellow, blue, black, red, and green. Is the Galveston area where you want me to check for the pvc? Let me know. I am pretty unfamiliar with TX and where you are at. Let me know. I will find out what I can.
