Tom Hale 10'6 info needed

Tom Hale 10’6 maybe 1963

can anyone tell me if these boards are rare or would it be a good board to collect…  the condition is ok, will need some TLC and redoing to get her back in the water…  I am wanting to collect a few more board to add to my hobie(s) and thought this one could be cool for the livingroom wall until she calls to be ridden!!  I know Tom was a legend and this board would be cool to have…any info would be great!!

Thank!!

You bought that eh?

T.O. yeah? saw that one all about the price and condition.

Tom Hale Ventura legend.

Up to “C” street with your ass oh, NO wet suit, no worries you’ll get waves.

Nice Bradda!

Cool guy.  Great shaper. Worked for MP and had his own shop. Huerta, Blinky, Dennis Ryder and anybody that grew up in Ventura County could fill you in.  In that condition’;  NO that board is not that great a find. If you have no nostalgic connection to Tom’s boards , Ventura and that era;  It’s pretty much not worth but a couple of hundred dollars.  One of the most fun days I ever had was on a three stringer Tom Hale on a nice swell at Secos.  Lowel

my dad and his friends were buddies with tom hale. as a snot nosed little kid i’d go with them to tom’s shop-cool colored resin drips everywhere! yeah, most everybody here rode his boards. super cool guy and made some really nice boards. however, that one doesn’t look too be in that good of shape…

Looks pretty bad from that one pic posted. It might be a fun project to attempt a rehab on, if you got it for free. I can’t see anyone in their right mind paying more than $20 for it.

Yeah I bought the first golf type T-shirtsI I ever owned from Tom at his retail shop on lower Thompson.  He was working the store himself .  All those beautiful longboards.  He was a snappy dresser.  Golf shirt and slacks.  Lowel

Thanks guys for the all the input…  I have decided not to purchase the board because the ebay seller pulled a fast one on me, the cat relisted the board on Ventrua’s CrList after I agreed to make the purchase!  I would have liked to have a board shaped by Hale from his old shop… but I guess that wont be happening!!

Can anyone pass along some good sites for buying older longboards…  maybe there is a site I have missed in my google searches.(?)…

Thanks Again!!  ~ Pura Vida ~
