Too much styrene in squeggee coat

Ahoy Swaylockians,  I know this is like my third post in 2 weeks. Sorry for blowing up the feed.  This will be my last one for a little bit lol.  So i did a UV poly squeggee coat over my volan lam to slightly fill in the weave and to fill any pinholes.  I added styrene to the lam resin in the hopes that it would be easier to get into the little pinholes in the cloth.  I stuck the board in the sun and the resin went off and got pretty hard, but it doesnt seem as rock solid as usual.  thinking I may have added too much styrene to the resin.  Is there anything I can do to make sure this coat does not negatively affect my board?  I’m thinking of just hotcoating as usual and sanding it down pretty close to the weave.  Is this the best thing to do?  Thanks!

Did you use plain styrene, or surfacing agent? If it was just straight styrene then go ahead and do a hotcoat, proceed as usual.

Jr Chemist looking for advice on the internet.?

If you think you used too much styrene…you did… Hope you’re not a tree hugger…make sure you double down on the MEKP…that stuff is supper toxic. I love surfboards!

Hey I used plain old styrene.  not surfacing agent.  Gonna hotcoat it and hope that the squeeggee coat’s structural integrity was not compromised too much.  gonna be extra careful with styrene from now on.  Live and learn!
