I haven’t kept track, but does anyone recall some of the famous shapers who have ever posted on Swaylocks? I was just wondering who of the “Biggies” may have wandered through here and posted. I know from reading posts here, that many of you who frequent Swaylocks are on the same level as many of the big name guys, just not as well known yet.
So far there have been posts by Jim Phillips, Greg Loehr, Greg Webber who are quite well known, but there are others who post here that are just as knowledgeable who are not as well known. I’ve mentioned before that I feel very fortunate to have discovered this site a few years ago and very appreciative of those who have shared their knowledge. The cool part about this site is that the ones who have the experience and knowledge dont make you feel like theyre above you looking down, but are on the same level as you, just wanting to share. This is a special place.
I do remember a sometimes controversial “celebrity surfer” who posted here last summer…Joel Tudor. I just can’t remember any celebrity shapers.
Funny thing is whithin Hours after posting regaurding a certain Badass shaper leaving the employ of Mr. Tudor (or should I say his mom who seem to like to stand in for him on this forum as well as in the “factory” )–I received a phone call from said shaper thanking me for sticking up for him-- so you also must wonder what even bigger names are lurking and maybe even sometimes even posting anonomously as well?
Tom Morey (Y) posted a lovely tribute after Miki Dora’s passing. Rob Olliges
