I know you all have probably made plenty of boards, but this one was my first, so forgive my excitement. Of course we’re left to see how it does in the water, but it looks pretty good in my garage. I brewed beer for awhile, and I remember my first batch comming out a lot worse than this… but that’s comparing surfboards to beer. Glassing was tedious, but overall a rewarding experience. A little thicker than I’m used to, but that’s a lot better than too thin. Thanks to anyone who offered some advice on my earlier threads… http://www.pbase.com/ubiquitous/final Cheers,

Bet ya can’t make just one! No bet… already began layin’ out my fish

Maybe I missed it, but how thick is it? The price of all the tools kept adding up, and they wanted 30 bucks for some wooden sculpters calipers, so I figured I make 'em instead. Never really happened. I used some makeshift calipers to get an idea, but its rough. I figured with the close to shape blanks I should be OK eye’n it, just kept it on the thick side, as opposed to thin. To answer your question, about 2 3/8" but I think it holds above two all the way up to 24" from each side. Roughly 1.5" at the nose and 1.75 at the tail I found some aluminum sculpters calipers (12") on the web for cheap, but I’m worried it might not make it to center on anything in the 20" ballpark -there’s a bit of a pinch near the joint that will take a few inches off the reach. Anyone use these? …successfully?
