No, ‘Deathy’ , that is actually an ALL fibreglass fin . [I only get a “halo” / glass border , with wood core fins]
What happened with the fish fabric inlay fin you saw is …
…I put the fabric too far "outside ’ [if that makes sense] , when laying up the fin . [D’oh !] So , because it was amongst the OUTER layers of cloth , it got grinded when I foiled the fin .
Live and learn eh ?
…on my next fibreglass keels , if I DO go with a fabric inlay , I will place it about 5 layers in [from the inside edge of the fin ] when laying it up…
Surfed the MR as a twinnie this morning and it went great! felt really good espicelly backside. nice and fast and really snappy quick manuevers. took me a while to get used to a twin fin, might have to wear a leggie while i’m learning the twinnie ropes.
excellent fun!
