ah yes …good question …it WOULD look like a “halo” , of course …hadn’t thought of that .

No, ‘Deathy’ , that is actually an ALL fibreglass fin . [I only get a “halo” / glass border , with wood core fins]

What happened with the fish fabric inlay fin you saw is …

…I put the fabric too far "outside ’ [if that makes sense] , when laying up the fin . [D’oh !] So , because it was amongst the OUTER layers of cloth , it got grinded when I foiled the fin .

Live and learn eh ?

…on my next fibreglass keels , if I DO go with a fabric inlay , I will place it about 5 layers in [from the inside edge of the fin ] when laying it up…

…the side fins [twins] I rode today , using the “prawn” as a ‘twin finner’ , with a 3x3" back ''finner".

the twinnies on my Mark Richards are 5" Base and 5 1/2" Deep with a little removable trailor. cant wait to try it straight out as a twinnie.

how do you find smaller twins benny?

I have some around that size , but mostly mine are 5 1/2’’ base x 5 1/2" depth , to 6" base x 5 1/2" depth

…but , it might be time to make some (wood core) 6" x 6’'s , I think . [I DO have a coupla templates to choose from , no DOUBT !]

Hi Ben!

Surfed the MR as a twinnie this morning and it went great! felt really good espicelly backside. nice and fast and really snappy quick manuevers. took me a while to get used to a twin fin, might have to wear a leggie while i’m learning the twinnie ropes.

excellent fun!

look forward to more twinnie work.

this “should” be pretty much to those dimensions you mentioned Josh , want to place your fin against this to double check ?

[I guess it might depend on the size of individual screens too, or not ?]
