I was hoping that some one could give me some details on the placement of the fins for a twinzer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris
And any comments on fin sizing would be helpful as well (top me). Swaylock.>>> I was hoping that some one could give me some details on the placement of > the fins for a twinzer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.>>> Chris
My eperience with Twinzers taught me that there are a lot of diffrent ways to set the fins. Firstly, a wider tail needed the fins to be back a little more than on a narrower tail. Around 11 1\2 for a 6-2 with a 14 inch tail. The little fins were set so that the center of their base was even with the leading edge of the big fins, all fins were pointing 2 inches off the nose. The little fins had 3 degrees more cant than the big fins. The big fins had about 3\4 inch cant from the trailing edge of the base to the trailing edge of the tip if you measured vertically. There are SOOOOmany variables for setting these fins!! So much is dependent on the overall design. One reason this design went nowhere is because VERY few guys made em right!! Use Excel fin system (which is adjustable up and back)for all 4 fins. That way you can play around a bit. They have a small side fin template that you can try stock or sand down a bit. Maybe someone out there knows Will Jobson and can get him to give us some direction. aloha
