Looking to try the FCS Fusion system, anyone know where I can order it from, couldn't see it on either the homeblown or seabase websites yet mabey we're just slow on the up take? can't find what I done with the number for the FCS rep either.
I think that you should try ordering direct from FCS Europe whose headquearters are in Hossegor, France. Look for them on the FCS Fin System website.
Oh, and, if you just want one or two sets for trying out the system, I might send them to you. But I suggest you buy the FCS routing template: what makes the system work so good (IMHO) is that the boxes are absolutely flush with the foam so that they are actually glued to it as opposed to floating in a pool of resin.
Hey I know you can get the fusions from foam e-z in the states and they ship almost anywhere, they have the install kit as well, good luck to you!
If you find somewhere to get them please let me know.
Im a Swede, so excuse my english
Surfing the Baltic which is less salty, you need more buoyancy. I made a Stubby 6.8 x 22 1/4 x 3+ (I call it my fat lady, or small wave bitch last winter with FCS Fusion. First I made it like a Quad but changed it to a Keel after two test runs. Turned out really good actually. I used a Bonzer tail concave in the tail and like a single concave with angled rails in the nose (Like Stewards). It fly in small waves
Anyways, it is much easier to get the pluggs in the perfect angle when the two holes are in the same plugg. It is also much easier to make a sturdy construction. I made small holes in the foam linking the upper deck to the plugg with a blend of glass fibre and poly. I can surf over stones without ripping the pluggs out… almost
The only thing I lack is the “lifted sides” as on the ordinary FCS pluggs. The small amount of glass fibre that are put on top of the plugg doesn’t do much, and it is harder to not get poly into the holes, when putting these pluggs into an allready glassed board.
OK, it looks good if you have an opaque pigmentation. If it’s transparent like most homemade boards are it doesn’t make any different.
yes, it is stringerless
Holy Sports just outside Newquay do them, plus all you need to install them. They normal just supply to retail but if you sweet talk them their happy to help the backyard guys. Sorry for bumping a very old thread but I am having problems finding the FCS fusion jig+bit in Europe. 45-100 dollar shipping costs from the states seems stupid.
Anyone else got some ideas? Even mailed FCS Europe without any answer.
Might be easier to change fin system
Thanks!
Since the subject is back on the table, I’m just curious: are fusions boxes still readily available? I thought it was being phased out in favor of FCS 2?
If doing an FCS-compatible under-glass system is the main concern, I’d see about getting the Gearbox2 system. Cheaper (cost) and stronger.
