Hi people
Upon cutting the outline of my blank I’ve dicovered that the stringer has come unstuck. See clip, link below. I think the gorilla glue must have been off or something, was nearly a year old. My first instinct was to cut it shorter up to the point where it is stuck but that will remove a good 6". Other option is to syringe (fresh) gorilla glue in there and strap it up overnight but the needle will leave gaps in the foam. Any other workarounds? Cheers

If it were mine to fix: quick-set epoxy, small amount (just to hold not to squeeze out), thin bladed tool ‘putty knife’ to get it towards the middle of the stringer.
You could try going in from the tail instead of from the top or bottom to avoid marks near the stringer.
The first time - did you use foaming PU glue? Did you make the pieces damp with a little water (rag or mist) before assembly?
Let us know how the board turns out.
Had the same issue in a blank I had glued up myself.
I put tape down either side of the split. Then i used a scaper to aerate (scrape it ove itself a few times on a piece of plastic, gets a bunch of tiny bubbles in the glue making for a more consistant foam as it goes off) a little bit of foaming PU glue. Then scraped in into the space, and put it aside let it bubble up more. after its hard used a stanly knife blade to trim it even with the tape, sanded it a bit with the tape there and then pulled off the tape.
Use two or more strips of tape beside each other so you keep the glue off the surface of the foam.
Or just shape it normally and fill the gap with resin durring lamination, tint the glass or put a fabric inlay over it.
Thanks for the advice chaps. I ended up syringing glue into it last night before I read the tip about putting the tape on the foam but it’s still a blank and gonna be planed so that’ll hopefully get rid of the spillage. I discovered the same thing on another blank I made with fresh glue but nowhere near as severe so I don’t think the old glue was the problem but too little was applied (did the water mist beforehand) and when I jigsawed the outline I think the jigsaw blade dislodged the stringer from the foam.
Thanks again
