I guess you have a good point, yet I may appreciate knowing where you’re coming from. I’m more with those who think people ought to put something in. Those times “newbies” come in and start talking crap, and you look at their profile, and… Nothing… May sound lame, but it seems like disrespect to the Sway community, not that I have any room to talk about showing respect, well guess restraint would be more accurate… Ha!
On the point of a new look - Since the last change, when I click on “return to form” at the bottom it goes to the next thread, which I don’t really want, but I could see it as an additional option. Also, some time threads get “too wide” for my screen and I have to scroll back and forth if I want to read certain posts… fixing the former would be nice, and fixing the later would be super nice/helpfull, as I can remember to click back, but I can’t “do” anything about the “wide screen” but deal or skip.
I’m not so keen on sharing my private information with every Tom, Dick & Harry and anybody could be on Sway’s but first name and country is fine with me.
I’m not so keen on sharing my private information with every Tom, Dick & Harry and anybody could be on Sway’s … why ?? “i’m rooting the underdog” oh , ok…THAT would explain it …
I’ve been thinking about this thread. I think location should be required. I like the Idea of favorite threads and links to favorite web sites. I’m doing photos through Photobucket but is sure was easier the old way.
If you have time check out Magmalabs.com. Surfers making wax with recyclable packaging…Smells good too!
The idea of expanding profiles is nice but of course the infromation provided will only be as accurate as the user wants it to be. Some are responding as if increasing user profile info would eliminate troublemakers. I’m no internet guru but I don’t see increasing profile info as a solution to flamers, etc.
I also didn’t see where the Sway’s Administration was saying this info would be manditory. Seems more like he’s looking for types of profile info for those who want to provide it. Personally, I’m a little paranoid about providing too much info. But I suppose I can pick and chose what I like.
Sway’s,
I like all the topics you listed. Seems like the trend for profiles is to make them more feature loaded like the Myspaces and Facebooks of world. I don’t see a need for that. Classmates has a more simplified version of that sort of thing where you can add pics and quotes with out the profile being huge. I suppose the Classmates profile model would be nice.
Howzit stingray, I totally agree about including location. It’s not like you have to give an address just a State or even the country would be enough. It’s frustrating some times when people post and ask questions that require a location and there is none. See to many posts where the poster asks for info on where to get products or materials or environmental affects and we don’t know where they are located.Aloha,Kokua
