Nick: From the info that has been passed around here and different things I have tried: 1. Mercury Vapor light (found in outdoor security fixtures at ACE Hrdwre.) 2. Black Light - fluorescent tubes used in bug zapper (you can use black light poster lamps but they don’t work nearly as well. Look for Sylvania BL-XXXX notations and put 2 in a cheap 4’ shop light fixture for a decent handheld wand. 3. Tanning bulbs with a 4.5 rating or higher 4. I found an old counter top tanning light fixture complete with tripod stand for my ding repair area. It looks kind of like a ladies makeup light fixture. The light source is Mercury Vapor and has a killer reflector backing and it kicks suncure off great. Total cost at Goodwill= $4.50.>>> what type of bulb and fixture do you need to get solor cure resin to kick > indoors? sunlamp, grow lamp bulb or what?
…keeping it green what else.Happy Hollowdays.Herb heh… I heard its best to use High Pressure Sodium for Laminating resin - the red spectrum helps during this early stage of resin development. Then finish off with a blue spectrum light (Metal Halide/Mercury Vapour) to help the gloss coat develop that sweet smelling shine. You can save some money if you mix up your own resin formulae as well - and you can keep an eye on potassium levels… I mean styrene. Cheers,

what type of bulb and fixture do you need to get solor cure resin to kick > indoors? sunlamp, grow lamp bulb or what? Fiberglass Hawaii sells 4ft uv lights for about $17.00 a piece. I’ve got 8 bulbs now and am adding more every month. The trick is to get the lights close to the board, I lower my lights to about 6" above the board and it seems to work just fine. Aloha, Kokua
Kokua: Could you give us a few tips on how you have your light mounted or hung to allow for an elegant system of using such a light source overhead? I’ve talked to some who have differnt types of pulley systems that allow you to lower the units from above. Thanks! Tom S.>>> Fiberglass Hawaii sells 4ft uv lights for about $17.00 a piece. Right now my system is pretty crude and have to lower each set of light separatly. But I’m going to shut down for a week or so to reroof, install drywall ceiling and work on the Light lowering system. I’ll give you an update when I’m done. Aloha, Kokua
