So yesterday I started fixing one of my neighbors sons boards, there were several deep dings that needed some resin and cabosil placed in it. I decided Ill use UV resin and Ill add some white pigment to match the board a little. Thats where I went wrong, so after about a half a day of sitting out in the sun I decided to sand it, I get about half way down and its still soft. I didnt think before adding the pigment that the sun wont be able to get down to the lower portions after the top hardens, damn that was stupid. So now I have to put it in the sun tommrow, sand it down a little and use more resin but this time without the white. That had to be one of the most stupid things I ever did. So I hope everyone learns from my mistake, I think if your just lamming a board it would work fine though, but I dont want to try it any time soon. Anyone else ever laminated there board with UV resin and pigment?
lighter pigments work okay. for this ding repair, the problem was more an issue of depth than pigment. you can still use UV resin with white pigment for a quick cure on the surface, but next time around just be sure and add a little bit of MEKP so the insides will kick.
makes sense, I was thinking that to
