I want to shape a 6’4" egg and I’m trying to find out the best way to shape a slight V bottom and where to place the V. Sorry if this topic has been discussed already. I couldn’t find anything about V in the archive.

I couldn’t find anything about V in the archive. I used a little V in the mid part, a flat nose and tail on the 6.2 (boards section). Works fine for this board. Peter Rijk

I couldn’t find anything about V in the archive. I shape v into a board by making a few passes (the width of the planer) on the bottom following the tail curve, about a third up from the tail. I then take another pass next to that one. It ends up looking sort of like a terrace (or steps), the highest point being at the stringer. I then blend the steps with a surform. The amount of passes you take determines the depth of the v. I usually place the deepest part of the v where the fin would go on a single fin, and in the area between the front fins on a thruster. The v flattens out after that toward the tail(but is not completely flat).
