sure it’s properly oiled, if need be, before i run it…

along with this pump and a roll of bagging plastic that Tridrles gave me,

i’m slowly piecing things together…

thanks to Sways for the inspiration

Wow, that really is a good score!

You’ll be baggin in no time with that.

Is that a bleed screw so you can adjust vac pressure?

Lets get baggin!

STOCKED!

WOW! What a SCORE!

OK, Chris… when ar you going to up your first balsa/comp ‘how-to’ thread!

You have all the knowledge and now equipment!

Sure missed you at Swayloholics 08.

Les

thanks Les i was bummed to miss Big Sur… i don’t know about a ‘how to’ thread… maybe a

‘how not to’ thread… seriously though, with all the generous info from folks on Sways, i can hardly

wait to get started… for sure, your class really helped me get my mind around the whole process.

Hi Chris -

Nice score!

On the opposite side of the cylinder head from the vacuum control, there is a port. It looks like it has threaded fittings already attached? You can use that side (compressor side) to shoot paint through an airbrush.

Also, from what I can tell, that’s a basic diaphram pump… probably doesn’t need oil. If you decide to get fancy and hook up a vacuum switch, you should check Joewoodworker site for his info on MAC valves.

I think all you need now is some balsa…

http://www.nationalbalsa.com/balsa.htm

I think this company has the best prices.

I usually get 3/32"x3"x36"

When it come each piece isn’t quite the EXACT same size.

I bunch 10-20 together and use a chop saw to even up the ends.

Then a table saw to even up the width. If I had a radial saw that would do both cuts I guess.

Good luck on it.

Les

Score! Glad I could help!

That sucks!

For anybody looking to score a good pump for a good price, follow this link.  If I didnt already have a working pump/had more money id be all over it, I hope someone buys it to make boards…
