Vacuum switch

I almost have my new (and much better) vac setup complete. Waiting on the vacuum switch to get here.

Question for others … my vac switch is rated at 10A. This would be sufficient to run directly to the pump, but there is that little extra surge at startup that could exceed the rating.

Has everybody else direct wired theirs to the pump, or are you using a relay/triac to handle the current?

I scored a sweet regulator from a used med supply company for $35 … I can dial it in however I want now … got a portable air tank as the reservoir, 6CFM robinair pump … got 'er made in the shade once it’s all done.

EW,

yeah, you’ll want to use a relay. 110V coil, contacts rated to 15 or 20 amps @110V. I’d go with 20 amp…
