Value of use brand name longboard

I understand this is a building site, and I understand value is what someone will give me for it, but I was interested in how much you think i could get out of my 9’6" R.A Wingnut II.

Condition. 1st off I ripped the fin box out of it on a reef break, but fixed professionaly with alot of extra glass, has some dings that were fixed, has some stress cracks in the gloss, and of course perssure dings.

Only thing you can’t see in the pic is the tri color tail block.

Thanks.

What I think is fair is min. of $350

350 would be good money for your board in my opinion. That will be a nice board for someone. The way I feel is if you have enjoyed something it has payed for itself and anything you get when you let it go is all good.I know not everything is like that, you may have a more ultimate board in mind for yourself.Anyway, cool board!

I love this responce. I guess that means you think it’s worthless.

Shawn,

Yeah, $350 is the min. I’d even consider. Almost like if you were my buddy type of thing or if I really wanted a quick sale. Anything more than $450 I think is too much.

In some ways I’d hate to see it go, but like you said, “if you have enjoyed something it has payed for itself and anything you get when you let it go is all good” Selling it would also fund my aventures in building my own boards. Which is the main reason, but I have also replace it in small waves with the board in the attachments below. It not a brand name, nor as stream lined shape, but it picks up small mushy waves that I didn’t used to catch. I seriously doubt it will ride as good as the WII in our rare 6’ waves, but I should learn to rde a smaller HP single fin on those days anyway.

Thanks for the only responce.

Hey Dave,

I’m not a big fan of the RA’s I’ve ridden (although I haven’t ridden that particular model) I think 350-450 range is about right, roughly. A lot depends on local conditions (supply/demand, # of surfers, economic conditions, blah, blah)

One of the longboard specific forums might be a better source of feedback

Thanks for the link. Yeah, you go to these so called surf shops {surf clothing shops} abd you see used LB’s going for $495-$600 depending. Never seen one under $450.

Maybe you could post a close up of finbox repair? On west coast, I’ve picked up nice used LBs for around 300 - 350 and that has been out of shops during off season.

Yeah, I’ll post a pic of the finbox repair after my camera recharges. Although, I’m not tring to sell my board with this thread. I haven’t even made up my mind if I’m gonna sell it. Just wondering what it would fetch.

yeah ya’know, just that little thing you said about it funding your plan to make your own board,I beleive that is the value of that board. If using the money from that board, even if it’s a little bit to do that and you get into it,it’ll be all water under the bridge. And you will be happy and not miss it a bit.

good luck

Shawn

John, here is the pics of the finbox repair.

Shawn, investing it into my board building is the driving factor. Sense I traded my Hobie Fish for the other LB. I want to build thing Egg I laid out off the Hobie shape, but it’s wider, longer, and the tail is slightly pulled for a true egg.
