vee question

I’m shaping a 6’4" singlefin and want to put vee in the bottom. It occurred to me that a simple way to do this would be to put my rocker template along the rail, maybe about 1/4" below the edge of the bottom, depending on how much vee I decide I want, then run my hotwire cutter along the bottom, resting it against the stringer and my rocker template. This would create the same vee along the entire length of the board, or I could raise the template at the nose so that its flush with the bottom, leaving it down 1/4" or so at the tail, then my vee would progressively increase as you go toward the tail. I don’t know a lot about vee, I’ve just heard that it increases rail-to-rail action, and makes a board feel like it has more tail rocker (if the vee is in the tail). So I have 2 questions: 1. should my vee increase as you go toward the tail, and 2. how much vee? Thanks!
