Aloha, Has anyone ever heard of this stuff?? Vellum Paper I went out looking for Rice Paper and this is what I came home with. Actually looks like a type of thin plastic now that I have opened the package. Will it work for a lam. of a logo?? Looks kinda sketchy to me. If not does anyone know where to get Rice Paper here in S. Fla.?? I would like to glass this board this w-end and have a logo I’d like to try to use . Much Thanks for any suggestions… Mahalo Don J.
No, that won’t work. Try Dale at SurfSource; he’s within mailing distance.
No i tryed it once and it made a big bubble where it was.
Vellum is for engineering and architectural drafting, when a long-term durable medium was needed that took pencil well. Pencil on vellum is not much used any longer (except for diehard old-stylers who can’t/won’t use computer drafting), having been supplanted first by hand-drawn mylar pencil, then hand-drawn ink on mylar in the 80’s (when I started as a junior engineer), then by CAD and inkjet plotter on mylar.
Vellum is translucent and doesn’t go transparent. One of it’s advantages was that it was stable, it didn’t change dimensions with changing humidity as much as bond paper. The translucency was important for ozalid reproduction (blue-prints) where you shine a lighth through your original onto a photosensitive paper (much like photo printing).
If you could return the package, do.
Thanks everyone … I ordered the Rice Paper from Foam EZ … Mahalo Don J.
