I cant for the life of me find any rice paper around town to print out my logo laminate into a board. Been to more than a few art supply stores and they’ve either sold out or only have translucent Vellum or what looks and feels like a cotton sort of stock. I did a test print on the vellum on an ink jet and it printed out pretty nicely. Has anyone used vellum with success? I really am trying to avoid ordering paper online and having it shipped, that process for something like rice paper just seems kind of silly to me.
I tested a few types of tracing paper. Non worked so I broke down and purchased from greenlight... Still looking but I went to, big box, office supply, hobby, sewing, arts and craft...no luck
I have had the same problem. I went to a very reputable art supply store for rice paper and they didn’t have it. They said why don’t you try ARCHIVAL TISSUE PAPER. It was only .59 cents for a large sheet so I gave it a shot. Works perfectly fine with the inkjet printer and in lamination. Nice and transparent. Tape it to regular paper when you feed through the printer, just as you would with rice paper. No bubbles and easy to saturate.

I have used simple gift wrapping tissue paper, the type they use to wrap glasses and crystal in, and it works fine.
It probably doesn’t absorb the resin quite as quick as rice paper but it works fine.
When testing, wet your fingers and test pinch a small corner, if the paper soaks up the moisture and goes pretty clear it should be ok to use. Of course, a small scale test would also confirm suitability

Check ebay or Amazon, maybe you could get some posted to your house.
I tried vellum on a hollow wood board and it didn’t wet out totally clear. I’ll try the tissue paper next time.
I bought a pack of calligraphy rice paper on ebay for 7 bucks for 80 9.5" x 13" sheets. The package has all Japanese labeling and is made by Kyowa. It works just fine and pretty much disappears when wetted out. You do have to tape it to regular printer paper to print on an ink jet, just make sure to print on the shiny side.
