After weeks of research on the best noseriders, I finally found the one I like. It’s the Cooperfish Nosedevil. I have held literally dozens of boards in the last four weeks, and none matched the shape and quality of craftsmanship as the Cooperfish. I am stunned. When you hold a Yater, Jacobs, Carson, or Takayama, it feels good, real good. But then you touch that Cooperfish and realize that it is by far superior in every way. The level of perfection is unreal. I mean, if you go to cooperfishsurfboards.com and check out the boards, they look perfect. But when you see them in person, you will be stunned. It will make you want to give up shaping, because you will realize that this guy has topped Mt. Everest, and there isn’t a higher mountain. He only sells them in a couple locations, so they are very hard to get. And since he does all the work, there aren’t as many out there. I thought about how much work it must take to make one, and I find it a lot easier to spend 830 bucks than if I were just picking up a big name brand that a machine cranked out and an apprentice finished. No offense to them, really. they are all good at what they do. Heck, holding those Takayamas and Carsons, along with the Velzy’s and others were a thrill, really nice. And the Hobie’s were super nice to look at. Great boards. But none of them compare to the Cooperfish. Don’t believe me? Then you haven’t held one. Just look at how far the volan cloth was wrapped around the rails. It’s a full three and a half inches instead of 1.5. Amazing! And then he sands them like crazy and reinforces the glass job with more layers. Just great craftsmanship. And every board is glossed and polished, the way a real surfboard should be. Sanded finish? Doesn’t make the board that much lighter, and certainly isn’t very attractive. I can’t tell you how excited I am about getting my 10,1 Cooperfish Nosedevil. Perfect board. Oh, and JP. I do deserve it, and so do those people with AIDS in the third world countries you talked about. Everyone deserves a healthy happy life…everyone, and if a surfboard contributes to someone’s happines, then that someone (me) deserves it. Heck, I devoted my life to teaching children, and I encourage them to care for others and make the world a better place. I work hard, like I mentioned. I was lucky to be born in the USA. I am lucky to drive a nice car. And I am lucky to have a home. But I deserve it, as does everyone else in this world. We all deserve to have our dreams come true. Why not? Call me an optimist. My glass is half full. Hell, it spillith over. But I don’t belive it was at the expense of others. Everyone on this planet deserves happiness, including you and including me.
my Takayama doesn’t have half of their craftmanship or their looks but still outrides any Cooperfish (and they are nice rides) I’ve ridden so far. form vs function? I still go with function.
Glad to see you finally get what you were looking for. Hope you the CF rides as great as it looks, and they do look good.
