im gonna be making a waterproof housing for a video camera and need a way to operate the power and zoom controls on it. any thoughts?
I know a guy who made a housing for his video cam out of PVC pipe with clear lexan siliconed to one end and a screw-cap on the other. He puts white plumbers tape around the threads when he closes it up, new every time. Foam keeps the camera against the end. It floats and is white so its easy to find when he drops it.
He uses the little remote control to operate it and keeps that in one of those heavy-duty ziplock deals they sell to kayakers for their wallets. That thing has a wrist lanyard and he tucks it up his wetsuit sleeve. the whole setup was really cheap & works great. Its never leaked.
