Vintage Channin board question...

Can someone tell me a bit about Channin boards?

I recently picked up an 8ft Channin gun (in EXCELLENT condition), probably from the mid 70s. The wide point is up front and it has a pretty dramatic pintail. I figure it may have been designed as a Pipeline or Sunset gun, or may have been designed for CA winter surf. It has a 3/4" stringer and this code on the stringer:

4920-77-80

I’ll post pics later, but can anyone in the know tell me anthing about Channin?

Tony Channin has been glassing surfboards since the 1950’s.Always known for High Quality work.He still runs a huge glass facility and shaping machine operation in Encinitas California.

I had a Channin once. Really pissed off my regular shaper, though. He went through the roof, so I didn’t order Channins after that. :frowning:
