Vintage Hobie Propper Model restore question

Got an old Hobie 9’4" Propper model last week. Blue foam Tband. round pin with super knifey rails.

It has a hour glass fin box.No fin and no screw. I think I could make a fin but could also just put a fins unlimited box in or glass one on. Looking for input. The board is gonna be a rider.

    Thanks in advance.

(Did the Propper models usually have knife rails? I used to ride one in the 60’s but forget.)

Glad to hear you are going with one, i am picking one up myself before they are all sold, such as good price!

Hey thanks! Gonna buy one on ebay and he even has the screws. Who shaped the Proppers?

We called that box, ''The Hobie Dog Bone Box.''      I'd drop in an FU box.    You'd have fore/aft adjustability, and a wide choice of fins to enable you to dial it in as a rider.

If you wanted the original style fin they sell repos on ebay. Here is the link

I recant!    Those fins look outstanding.    And, the price is right.      Use the original.

I realize your post is 13 years old, but I have a Hobie/Propper pin with very thin rails in the front and so foiled it almost looks like a step deck. I can find nothing like it on the net. I’ll post a couple pics. If you happen to get this and still have the 9’4" please post a pic.
