Old board with history…1965-1969? My assumption is that it’s a new board, but the ebay seller is cleaver in his implication of its herritage and the makers history. Looks like a nice board at a good price however.
I always read the comments buyers make after dealing with sellers before I consider buying anything from them on EBay. Here’s one of 3 negative comments about this seller:
BUYER BEWARE, NO ALOHA SPIRIT, Impatient, poor communication, money hungey
Even if I wanted that board I would not deal with someone who has gotten that kind of feedback…
Leash plug, fin box, white foam etc- carbon plus more - new board, copy of old sticker. Either scam or the guy doesn’t know. Either way, steer clear. The WAVE boards I knew were of the hollow, honeycomb flavor, early 70s, dunno how many they made other than hat, but I truly doubt this is one of 'em.
Thats a china board!----same materials used in Oceanside, Challenger, and other brands that were bought up and are used in the discount places to sell cheep…that board probably sold new last year for about 475$ is some shop that seels them as loss-leaders to get the beginners into the building…
Hi John I just went over the list of all Morey Pope boards from 1965 to 1971. Couldn’t find this one.All boards had WAVE set or Traf. fin boxes or glass ons.Fin box looks to new. Whats with the plug? I have a 6’ hollow wave. Epoxy honeycomb. I thought the Waves were all hollow. Gordon
Thanks for the feedback gentlemen. Seller told me he got info off Surfline. Maybe he really didn’t know. I think I’ll send an e-mail to Karl Pope. He might like to know that someone’s using his label. There is sometimes some interesting stuff on E-Bay but as always… buyer beware.
