Hey everyone. I am aware of the fact that Walker makes blanks well suited for longboards, especially S-decks. But I’m wondering if anyone gets good results with the shorter blanks. I get the feeling they are not as close tolerance as Clark are? I’m also wondering if Walker uses different densities of foam as Clark does. I’ve heard the foam is stronger throughout, but can you order different densities? Finally, what are the cost of Walker blanks compared to Clark? Any suggestion on a long blank for a S-deck in the 9’4 to 9’6 range? I’m about to order a few and some last minute info would really help. Thanks- ryan http://groups.msn.com/InflateAbleDreamSpeed

Hey Havard. It sounded like they have two densities, regular and heavier. Stringer options are bass, balsa, and cedar. They have far fewer shortboard blanks than Clark but are willing to work with you on certain lengths and rocker configurations. As for cost, maybe a few bucks more than Clark per blank, not bad at all. This may not all be exactly true, but close. Joe’s a nice guy and was very helpful on the phone. From what I’ve heard the foam is excellent to work with, especially for uncommon shapes like displacement hulls and s-decks. I will definitely be using some Walker blanks in the future. Hope this helps- ryan
