Wanted: Shaping Machine

anyone have a lead on a used machine?

kirk

I take it you’re talking CNC?

yes, a three axis CNC machine (DSD, KKL, 3DM, etc.). not a profiler and not an APS3000 please.

kirk

What software format are you looking for?

And the end size of the biggest board you’ll like cut on the machine?

Where you looking to have the machine?

I have .iges files but use software which can convert most 3d surface files to G Code. And need it to cut boards up to 10’ in length. I’m in Santa Cruz, CA.

Kirk,

hello i have an aps3000 cutting center and i was looking at some of your previous posts and it seemed like you were not happy with cuts from other cutting centers. i would love to try and cut a file for you if you were interested, i can map a certain model of yours or cut a file you design. if you are interested my contact info is 650-464-7224 please give me a call even if you are not interested.

                                          thanks matt ambrose

The new 3DM from John Yow is dialed in. The lastest verison if Shape 3D is unreal.

Plus John’s machines are heavy duty well built and made in USA.

With the new cutter head and cutting paths you will be pleased.

If your looking for a machine in europe the french kms systems machine is the best value for money to date.

Can cut from other files 3d etc. has a 3d scanner for replicating shapes http://www.kmsystemes.com/kms2_page.php?condition=welcome

Seen a few different machines so far in action including the new renamed aku shaper and this is the best allrounder.

I’m not completely objective, since the KMS machine is also the one I use and since I’m helping Christian to set up his California operations, but it’s a good all-arounder and the latest version is really streamlined to avoid any unnecessary maintenance issues. It’ll cut anything up to 14’, and I’ve had great luck with EPS at slightly slower cutting speeds.

The KMS machines will be available soon out of San Diego. There will be a machine availible for demonstration so that you can see exactly what it’s capable of doing in a production setting.

Feel free to contact Christian directly if you’re interested or drop me a note.

A used 10’ KMS machine is just coming up on the market; one customer is upgrading to a 14’ to do more standups and paddleboards. If that’s any help, you can get a hold of Christian and KMSystems.

I have a 12’ machine for sale uses s3d softwere .
