Dude, Im so banned from that site I cant even read the page…
I look for 'em down my way, I know what they ride, what they drive and what they look like.
In my area, we (and I mean ‘we’) look for these bastards.Three Portland kooks from the OSP outted two of our local spots on that page-with pics!
Cali-boys, we dont mind so much, they give respect, low key, no chinese boards, even turn a few on now and then. But north of Lincoln City? The boys hold nothing down except Seaside and the trashed beaches and crowded line ups are the result. Its a kookfest.
Its not that there isnt room in the water, its the filth and the trash these kooks bring with them. Who wants to walk on broken beer bottles? Leftover fire pits?
If you bother, they got one Portland kook who posted…“I always go on the wave to make sure the guy in position is going to make it”…“its not shoulder hopping-its the only way I get waves”…WTF???
We aint the “Bra Boys” but we do like things the way they are.
Forgot to add and nothing against Surfrider but…when Surfrider holds events, they aint at the Coast, no no, they hold’em in…Portland!

I’ll use an OSP idiom; “LOL” Pretty funny. “Banned”? I’ve been banned twice. But I could still post if I wanted too. psuedoymn. Well I’ll let this die a slow death. I’ll make a point of looking you up. Lowel
Hey Bro,
I’ll sum this up a bit for you. I assume you’ve come and gone. Don’t know what you found, or where you been. However, ANYONE who drives 101 or 112 and has any sense of reading a map at an Elementary School level, and/or has used an internet search engine will most likely “stumble” upon the more desired surf spots that riddle the NW coast and straits of Washington. However a wrong parking spot on a Reservation may leave you wishing you had better car insurance.
Although it may seem unplaced, I find it odd and a bit bad ass that the NW locals have an outstanding pissed off rep than those Hawaiian stereotype.
Leave footprints only. Nod, don’t rape the locals with some blubbering bullshit orgasm in a desperate attempt to make friends.
And as I always look at it, to be a ‘surfer’ in the NW you must be 30% Driver 50% Hiker and 20% Selfish to be a credited surfer up here. haha.
Shout out to OR, always welcome up here in WA/OlyPen. PEACE!
Just wante to say; Ha, ha, ha… At some of this thread… Talk of the OSP… Pew, and funny. Oh well - notice all the newbies jumpin’ in… and “Uncle Dale” stayin’ out… Oh well.
And, for the sake of Sway’s: may latest board has been workin’ great… one of these day’s I’ll see - being short on technology - if I can get “Uncle Dale” to post a couple pics for me, so I can let ya all know what the deal was… Or just show ya at Sway’07.
Ok - Thanks for “being here” Taylor
“Ask for Doc or Gaz. They’re “grizzeled old experts” and always helpful.”
lol
I heard you can’t camp at Oswald State Park anymore.
True?
Who dug this up???
Funny to read the same old crap…
Trees falling at “short sands” = no more camping.
S.H. - After all this time, you realize how fortunate you are to live that far south… Not to close to the valley kookfest… You should see the line coming from OSU way… ugh. Thankfully, for the most part, they are longboarding on small days… But after the seasons of more surf, and less people… When the “best” decent waves are the only decent waves and a dozen or so longboarders are clogging the peak… “Paddle away, paddle away…”
Is it sharky up there or it it past the “red triangle”?
It is past the red triangle, but its still sharky, and of course consistently cold and fickle.
Hi,
I’m from Vancouver, BC. My friend and I have been surfing the Juan de Fuca straight in Washington this past winter. Definitely some of the best waves you will find around here, but the conditions have to be perfect. The swell has to be at least 200 degrees right into the straight in order to wrap around into the bays. The period should be over 10 seconds. Basically, its over for the season. You will have to continue on to the coast in order to find anything. Because of the time involved with going to Neah bay, I would just go straight to Oregon. Essentially the same driving time. As for friendliness, the locals have always been really nice and surprised we drove so far. I get more grief in Tofino for shittier waves.
Cheers,
Simon
Reading this thread after all this time makes me homesick. Oregon coast year round is mans game. Bring lots of gas money extra beers for the boys and a nug if you're so inclined.
I think you've got a handle on it. The only other suggestion would be to not get into "Political" discussions up here. Right or left; You could get yur head blown off.
