water droplets 1 week after surf

I have theories but, I'm wondering what I can attribute water droplets on my board a week after a surf to? It seems to come from all over the board and not necessarily from spider cracks or dings. Pourous glass?

Thanks

Stales those salty twists of dough right up! Someone knows the area well.

depends where you keep it and under what conditions like ambient temperature, (non-) exposure to sunlight, etc.

most likely plain condensation from the air, like how dew appears even on your car hood in the morning

cheers,

I don’t know the specifics, but I do know this… As ocean water evaporates off your board, only the water evaporates and the salt is left behind. So throughout the process, the remaining water gets saltier and saltier, and as a result, the energy needed to evaporate that supersalty water (something like the latent heat of vaporization) gets higher and higher. If it’s cool enough, it could take a very long time for that water to evaporate. In the heat it should dry up more quickly.

That’s my best guess…

Rinse the board with freshwater, dry it, and see if droplets form in storage again. If you don't rinse the board after use in ocean, evaporation will leave salt crystals on your board that will turn to water droplets every time humidity and temperature allow.

If you still get droplets after cleaning off satwater residue, you've got a very unusual problem.....

MikeDaniel is right on the money with this one. If you don’t rinse your board, the water evaporates leaving salt residue behind. When the board is exposed to humidity, the salt attracts/absorbs water and droplets form.

Dead on. So I keep my board in the basement which tends to get humid when the heat and humidity rise, shocker. It’s the northeast and it’s been balmy and hot lately. Just went down to check it out and sure enough it’s little salt deposits and when you wipe or touch them they leave behind the moisture.

Thanks for the input. Just glad it wasn’t a bad glass job.

Makes soft pretzles soggy too.

Yeah, I was lookin' pretty smart until I said ''satwater''. After one too many posts going to lalaland after clicking spellcheck on here, I quit using it.
